NIBA Nov. 17-19, 2010 Las Vegas, NV Conference

The National Investment Banking Association (NIBA) held its 2010 Las Vegas Conference at Caesars Palace on November 17-19. Everyone agreed that this was a great NIBA Conference! Wednesday night we all enjoyed a welcome cocktail reception which proved to be a great NIBA Networking Opportunity for all in attendance. Thursday began with a very informative NIBA meeting for NIBA Members, Associate Members, Associate Member Prospects, Sponsors and Vendors. At the same time the presenting company management participated in a NIBA Workshop titled “Increasing the Value of Your Business” with speakers Jim Agnew and Richard Ungaro, Expense Reduction Analysts. Next we had the opportunity to see both public and private company presentations in the NIBA General Session. NIBA’s luncheon speaker on Thursday was a wealth of industry knowledge. Former NIBA Chairman and Bestselling Author Ken Kamen of Reclaim Your Nest Egg: Take Control of Your Financial Future spoke to great acclaim. Video of parts 1 and 2 of Ken Kamen’s speech has been posted on the NIBAvideo YouTube Channel and on the NIBA Blog. Presenting Company Breakout Sessions were held in the afternoon, giving each Presenting Company multiple opportunities to address conference attendees for longer periods and make deals in smaller, more personal sessions. Thursday ended with a cocktail reception which provided additional terrific networking opportunities for NIBA Members, Associate Members, and Presenting Companies.

After a buffet breakfast on Friday morning NIBA Members, Associate Members and Presenting Companies were invited to attend a NIBA Panel Discussion addressing the recent new Dodd-Frank and other legislation as well as regulatory rule and procedure changes, which proved to be “must have” information to survive financial reform in the United States. The panel discussion included Michael Fugler, who serves on the Board of ASG Securities and is Head of Global Capital Markets for Welcome Life Financial Group, Michael Scillia, CEO of ASG Securities, Roland Savage, Managing Director of the Private Company Marketplace, and Attorney Frank S. Ioppolo Jr. Video of the NIBA Friday Morning Panel Discussion has been posted on the NIBAvideo YouTube Channel and on the NIBA Blog. A seated luncheon on Friday afternoon allowed each NIBA Presenting Company to make a final closing presentation to all conference attendees. If you weren’t able to join NIBA in Las Vegas then you missed a fabulous conference! Please register for NIBA’s next conference on March 2-4, 2011 in Ft. Lauderdale Florida!
